It's been a few days, and I tried to take a break from hair, but was unsuccessful, because all I could think of was how to pin point the problem. The problem I am referring to, is the breakage I noticed last weekend. While thinking about what the problem could be, I decided to do a list of things I am doing right.

1. No direct heat (no flatiron, blow-drying)

2. Six days out of each week my hair is in a protective style
3. I use mostly if not all natural hair products
4. I keep my hair moisturized

5. I sleep with a satin bonnet and pillow case

6. I gently finger detangle (only when wet)
7. I don't use a brush on my hair

8. I use my micro fiber towel on my hair

9. I do not pull on my hairline
10. I drink at least 1.5 liter of water each day
11. I take one multivitamin, fish oil,  & vitamin c pill daily

The first thing I blamed was my diet, which is why I made the healthy eating pledge. However, I am now also starting to think my hair may be suffering from protein over load. My Giovanni conditioner (which I loved) has tons of protein in it. Now I am not sure if that is a good or bad thing. My hair may be protein sensitive (I have no idea)! I also fingered washing my hair once a week as the possible culprit for the breakage. So instead of washing my hair every week, I am going to wash it every two weeks. I will temporarily replace my conditioner, to see if that helps. These two things are the easiest changes, the hardest change is eating right. I am determined to do it, because I want this hair growth experiment to be successful. I am not about to eat completely healthy over night. I am taking baby steps by incorporating fruits and vegetable into my daily food intake. This week alone, I ate broccoli on Monday, Tuesday. Plus this morning I made a fruit oatmeal smoothie for breakfast. This weekend I am going to do a full shopping, at the grocery store and then all should be good. Wish me luck. :)
